Get to Know Me

I am a neuro interventional radiologist who specializes in minimally invasive image-guided therapies that allow for pain palliation and tumor control in the bones, spine, head, and neck. I am also the Director of the Neuro Vascular Interventional Radiology Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).

I use a variety of technologies to treat tumors and cancer-related pain, such as embolization and chemo-infusion, cement augmentation (cementoplasty, kyphoplasty), ablation (radiofrequency and microwave energy, cryotherapy, electroporation), all of those performed using image-guided modalities, including ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), cone beam CT, navigation software, robotics, PET-CT, and MRI.

My primary goal at MSK is to relieve cancer-related distress and improve quality of life for all patients who are undergoing treatment for cancer at our center. When I am not working with patients to provide therapy, I am pursuing research, mainly into intra-arterial therapies for head and neck tumors and in the fields of cementoplasty, osteoplasty, and fixation — which help reinforce bones to reduce pain.

I received my MD in 2003 and completed my radiology training and my fellowship in 2008 and 2010, respectively, at the University of Bordeaux in France. I stayed on the faculty, with appointments in Radiology at the Bergonié Institute (2010) and the University of Bordeaux (2012). In 2013, I received a Fulbright scholarship and spent two years at MSK, the first year as a research fellow and the second year as a research associate. I obtained my PhD in applied mathematics in 2015 at the University of Bordeaux. I was appointed as a tenured professor of radiology in France in 2017 and served as Chief of the Department of Interventional Radiology and Oncology at the Sorbonne University in Paris before heading to New York. I now serve as Member and Professor of Radiology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weil Cornell Medical College.

I am a long-distance runner and have run the New York City Marathon several times in partnership with Fred’s Team.

Fred’s Team, MSK’s running program, gives every runner the opportunity to add more meaning to their miles by raising money for lifesaving cancer research at MSK. 100% of the money raised goes directly into the laboratories at MSK, where groundbreaking discoveries are making a real difference for people around the world.
