Maria Carlo, MD

About Me

I am a medical oncologist who specializes in caring for people with advanced kidney cancer. I also provide clinical counseling and genetic testing for people who may have an inherited predisposition to genitourinary cancers, such as kidney and prostate cancers, and other cancers. My research aims to understand, prevent, and treat these inherited cancers.

When I meet with patients, they are often concerned about what treatments are available to treat their disease. At Memorial Sloan Kettering, we are able to offer people not only standard therapies, but also innovative clinical trials. I work closely with a team of experts from many different areas to ensure all my patients receive the best and most effective treatments for their cancer.

Clinical Trials

Research is integral to our mission at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and clinical trials help us discover better forms of patient care and treatment. For you, this could mean access to a new therapy or therapy combination. Click to see a list of the trials I’m currently leading.

Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicaid and New York State Medicare also provide benefits for care at MSK.
