As Director of Radiology at Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Breast and Imaging Center (BAIC), I use my expertise in breast and cancer imaging to work as a team with my colleagues in oncology to provide specialty care to our patients.
My interests lie in the evaluation of new technology for diagnosing and staging breast cancer, as well as in improving the evaluation of treatment response in all tumor types. In particular, I have a research interest in Contrast Enhanced Digital Technology. Along with my colleague Dr. David Dershaw, I have developed a research and clinical program which performed the first bilateral contrast mammograms. Our work was instrumental in obtaining FDA approval for this exciting technology.
In addition to my administrative role at the BAIC, I am a member of the Radiology Quality Assurance Committee and the Academic Affairs Committee, and I am the director of the mentoring program for the Department of Radiology. I am also a member of Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Institutional Review Board (IRB).
I am a member of several national societies including the Radiologic Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the Society for Breast Imaging. I am also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and serve on its education committee on the Breast Track. Locally, I am a member of the New York Roentgen Ray Society and the New York Metropolitan Breast Cancer Group and serve on the Membership Committee.
Before joining the Memorial Sloan Kettering staff in 2009, I served for ten years as co-director of the San Fernando Valley Women’s Center at Tarzana Medical Center and, concurrently, as medical director of radiology at Good Samaritan Hospital. Prior to these roles, I was director of mammography and oncologic radiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in Los Angeles, and head of radiology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute from 1984 to 1991.

Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicaid and New York State Medicare also provide benefits for care at MSK.Learn more
