Niamh M. Keegan, MBBCh BAO
Genitourinary Medical Oncologist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.
About Me
- Assistant Attending Physician
I am a medical oncologist specializing in the care of people with genitourinary (GU) cancers (prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancer). At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), I work closely with an expert team of surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, nurses, and supportive care specialists to develop a personalized care plan for each patient.
I believe in taking a team-based approach to cancer treatment that involves not only my MSK colleagues, but also my patients. I partner with patients to understand their unique needs and preferences. Together, we aim to achieve evidence-based care that considers the many dimensions of life impacted by cancer and its treatment.

I am passionate about improving our understanding of GU cancer and developing new interventions through clinical trials. In addition to standard-of-care treatment options, our team provides access to emerging therapies through promising and innovative clinical trials delivered closer to home at MSK’s locations in New York’s Westchester and Nassau counties. Our team also works on studies that seek to better comprehend how specific cancer therapies will affect patients. This includes efforts to identify early indicators of treatment sensitivity (treatment that is likely to be effective) and resistance that can be determined before treatment begins to support more accurate treatment selection.
I pursued a career in medical oncology because I believe it represents the fusion of commitment to patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, and the relentless pursuit of scientific innovation. After completing my training in medical oncology, I pursued advanced fellowship training at MSK, with a focus on immunotherapy for GU cancer, translational science in prostate cancer, and prostate cancer therapeutics.
It is a great source of pride for me to care for people with GU cancer and contribute to MSK’s long-established, distinguished leadership in the development of cutting-edge cancer care. At MSK, I have the privilege of caring for patients alongside extraordinary mentors and colleagues, who share my goal of delivering individualized care of the highest quality.
