Get to Know Me

I’m a urologic surgeon who has special training in treating people with genitourinary cancers. This includes:

This provider is part of a team that was ranked #1 in the nation for Urology Cancer Care this year by U.S. News & World Report.
  • Bladder cancer
  • Upper tract urothelial cancer (cancers that arise in the ureter and renal pelvis)
  • Urethral cancer
  • Penile cancer

I’m an expert in many surgical techniques including minimally invasive robotic and endoscopic surgery. I see patients at the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in Manhattan and MSK Basking Ridge in New Jersey.

My approach to cancer care focuses on my patient’s values and priorities. It’s important for me to work to achieve the best possible results for them. This starts with developing a relationship based on trust. I prioritize clear, open communication and understanding my patient’s perspective and priorities.

I work to give my patients the best chance at cancer cure while maintaining quality of life. I have a specific interest in organ-preserving treatments for patients. This means that I aim to get the best possible treatment results while keeping the organ intact when possible and preserving function.

I’m also an expert in surgical methods that help maintain quality of life for cancer patients. This includes nerve-sparing surgical techniques that help maintain urinary and sexual function. It also includes surgical techniques that preserve the vagina and its function, which can benefit women with genitourinary cancers. If preserving the bladder is not feasible, I use reconstructive methods that best protect the most natural form of urinary and sexual function.

The treatment of genitourinary cancers is rapidly changing. I work closely with cancer specialists in medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, and pathology to develop a personal treatment plan. We work as a team to make sure our patients receive the best possible care.
