Get to Know Me

I’m an interventional radiologist with special training in using image-guided, minimally invasive procedures to help diagnose and treat cancer. This means that I use imaging to see inside the body and treat cancer without the need for major surgery.

I use tools such as CT scan, ultrasound, and MRI to guide me so I can provide precise treatments through tiny incisions. This helps deliver treatments that are highly effective, safe, and which can have a shorter recovery time.

Depending on your specific needs, the procedures I perform include:

  • Biopsies: Taking a tiny sample of tissue to check for cancer.
  • Placing venous access devices: This includes placing medical devices such ports and lines safely under the skin to make it easier for you to receive medicines.
  • Ablation: Using extreme heat or cold to target and destroy tumors.
  • Embolization: Blocking blood flow to a tumor to starve it, or delivering treatment directly to the tumor.

I see patients at Memorial Hospital, the main hospital at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), and at the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at MSK.

I work closely with your entire care team to create a coordinated treatment plan built just for you. I believe it is especially important for you to understand your options and know what to expect before, during, and after a procedure. Even when a procedure is something I do every day, I know that it may feel unfamiliar and stressful for you. I am here to listen to your questions and help you feel as comfortable as possible.

I chose this field because I love using new technologies to deliver treatments that can directly improve patients’ lives.

I’m also active in research, finding new ways to develop and use image-guided cancer treatments. I’m studying how we can combine these minimally invasive procedures with immunotherapy (treatments that boost the immune system to fight cancer) to get better treatment results.

What I Do at MSK
