Get to Know Me

I am a pediatric surgeon who treats cancer in children and young adults. I am an expert in treating different types of solid tumors using open and minimally invasive surgery. Minimally invasive surgery involves making smaller cuts which helps people recover faster. I see patients at Memorial Hospital, which is the main hospital at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).

I believe in careful planning, teamwork, and personal follow up. When we first meet, I take the time to look at your child’s medical history. I also take the time to understand your goals, concerns, and questions. I believe in talking clearly and making decisions together. I want you and your child feel informed and supported during every step of the treatment journey.

I work closely with other experts on your child’s care team to make the best decisions about their treatment. I make sure your care is well-coordinated and built specifically for your child and family’s needs.

I became interested in cancer surgery because of its complexity and the opportunity to improve the field through research and clinical care. Pediatric surgical oncology allows me to combine my commitment to caring for children with cancer care and research.

My research focuses on using artificial intelligence and data from medical images such as CT scans or MRIs. This is called radiomics. My goal is to see how we can use medical imaging data to better understand tumors, support planning for surgery, and monitor your child’s health over time. Using these tools, we can make cancer care more precise and personalized for every child.

Outside of work, I volunteer to provide surgery for children in need around the world. Every year, I spend a week providing care in a place with limited resources. This work is very meaningful to me and continues to shape how I think about patient care.
