Ting Zhou

As a hematopathologist, I am dedicated to diagnosing hematolymphoid malignancies, which include chronic myeloid conditions, leukemias, lymphomas, and myelomas, among others. An accurate diagnosis is critical to ensuring appropriate clinical management, which is accomplished through a multimodal approach combining clinical, morphological, immunophenotypic, and molecular findings. This approach now places an increasingly significant emphasis on molecular findings.

Molecular characterization also plays a significant role in the development of precise, personalized medicine by allowing for tailored treatment plans, accurate prognoses, and effective disease monitoring. My interest in cancer at a molecular level motivated me to complete a fellowship in molecular genetic pathology. This rewarding journey has furnished essential knowledge in hematopathology and molecular genetic pathology, providing me a unique perspective on the diagnosis and underlying pathogenesis of hematologic diseases. 

I hope that these skills will lead to novel discoveries and aid in providing optimal patient care. My current research interests include using molecular tools to refine the classification of hematological malignancies — particularly lymphoma — and exploring diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic biomarkers for these diseases.

Aside from my professional interests, I enjoy indulging my passion for baking. I love experimenting with different flavors and techniques to create delicious treats.
