Vikram Dhawan, MD

About Me

I am critical care physician who cares for people in MSK’s Intensive Care Unit. I have special training in helping people who have severe brain and spinal cord injuries or complications. I have been doing this work for more than a decade. I am part of a multidisciplinary team that is available around the clock to ensure our patients get the timely, comprehensive care they need. I also see patients with complex medical and surgical critical care needs. We have a combined medical surgical ICU and I take care of very sick patients who need very intensive or close monitoring and quick interventions if needed.

Another important part of my job is helping caregivers who are dealing with a critically ill family member or friend. I am always available to address their questions and concerns during what can be a very stressful time.

Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicaid and New York State Medicare also provide benefits for care at MSK.
