Get to Know Me
I am a radiation oncologist who sees patients at MSK Bergen and Memorial Hospital in Manhattan. I specialize in treating a wide variety of cancer types, including:
- Prostate cancer
- Brain tumors
- Lymphoma
- Multiple myeloma
- Leukemia
- Metastatic cancer of all types (cancer that has spread to a different part of the body)
- Bladder cancer
I was drawn to the field of radiation oncology because it allows me to apply the latest technology to treat cancer and improve patients’ lives. I use advanced treatments, like:
- Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)
- Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT)
- Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and
- Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS)
These treatments allow us to more effectively, quickly, and conveniently give radiation while reducing the risk of side effects.
It is common for patients to find cancer treatment overwhelming at times. My goal is to do everything I can to support my patients while providing the best possible care. I spend time explaining all of the available treatment options, making recommendations based on the patient’s values and goals, and empowering patients to make decisions that are right for them.
I work closely with my colleagues in other specialties, like medical oncology and surgery, to consider all approaches to treatment. We work together to provide state-of-the-art multidisciplinary care (care that bring experts together across medical specialties).
My research primarily focuses on predicting and reducing side effects of cancer treatment. By bringing new diagnostic tests and treatment options into clinical practice, my goal through my research is to reduce the side effects that can come with cancer treatment.
I'm a radiation oncologist, which is a cancer doctor with special training in using radiation therapy (RT) to treat cancer.
