For any cancer type, getting a precise diagnosis is the critical first step toward getting the right treatment. Memorial Sloan Kettering Commack uses advanced imaging technologies — including ultrasound, MRI, CT, and PET-CT — to determine the extent of your cancer.
We also perform stereotactic, ultrasound-, and MRI-guided biopsies. All specimens from biopsies are sent to Memorial Sloan Kettering in Manhattan, where pathologists who specialize in specific types of cancer evaluate each slide.

At our Commack facility, we use three state-of-the-art linear accelerators, advanced imaging and CT simulation approaches, and high-speed computer-based systems to deliver radiation directly to the tumor with incredible precision. We are experts in intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), and use on-board imaging (OBI) to monitor and account for changes in the location of the tumor immediately before and during each treatment.
Safety is a high priority at each step of your treatment. Medical physicists are involved in every radiation procedure to ensure that the correct dose of radiation is delivered precisely where it is needed.
