The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is offering a unique one year, ACGME accredited Hematopathology Fellowship Program for three positions. The fellowship involves one year of training in Hematopathology, focusing on morphologic, flow cytometric immunophenotyping, clinicopathologic and genetic/genomic analysis of hematopoietic malignancies. The fellows have rotations in lymphoma and leukemia sign out services as well as rotations in flow cytometry, cytogenetics, molecular pathology and hematology laboratories during this year which is ACGME accredited. An optional second year of training for a single position is also available as the Advanced Hematopathology Fellowship.

The Hematopathology Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) is a high volume clinical service where 20000 hematological malignancy biopsies and flow cytometry cases are accessioned per year. Eighteen hematopathology faculty are enthusiastically engaged in teaching the fellows in all areas of hematopathology. Didactic lectures and microscope sessions are given by the faculty to the fellows throughout the year. The fellow is exposed to research opportunities based on a high-volume MSKCC hospital clinical service as well as an extramural consult service. In addition, participation is required in relevant educational activities, such as weekly consensus/interesting case conference, weekly lymphoma and leukemia tumor boards, journal clubs, as well as other academic activities offered by the Department of Pathology and Hematology/Oncology Departments.

All applicants should be MDs or MD/PhDs who have completed residency training in AP, CP or AP/CP in the United States (ACGME accredited) or Canada and who are certified (or are eligible for certification) by the American Board of Pathology.
