MSK’s Core Facilities: ‘Mission Made Possible’

Learn more about the resources and state-of-the-art technology that are available within MSK’s core facilities.
Video Details

At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a variety of state-of-the-art core facilities and resources provide services and technology to our basic and translational research programs. Our goal is to provide the highest quality of scientific technology in rapid turn-around time, while operating in a cost-effective manner. Memorial Sloan Kettering’s core facilities are staffed by research experts in the technologies offered. Education and training is provided in select cores.

31 Core Facilities found
Mouse Genetics Core Facility (MGCF)
The Mouse Genetics Core Facility (MGCF) supports the use of genetically manipulated mice for in vivo studies of gene function in biological processes that are of interest to investigators.
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (Analytical)
The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Analytical Core supports MSK researchers by providing essential analytical services, access and education for analytical instrumentation and related shared scientific resources. Our emphasis is on small molecule synthetic organic chemistry/drug development.
Organic Synthesis
The Organic Synthesis Core designs and executes efficient, economical chemical syntheses of entities that are not readily available to Memorial Sloan Kettering researchers.
Pathology
The Pathology Core is a centralized, comprehensive facility for research involving human tissue. The resource provides professional expertise in pathology, appropriate samples, and tissue-based experimentation.
Patient-Reported Outcomes, Community-Engagement, and Language Core
To support MSK investigators who wish to implement patient- or other self-reported outcomes into clinical research or routine care via traditional survey or interview techniques.
Proteomics
The Proteomics Core provides access to state-of-the-art, mass spectrometry based protein analysis technology. Core services include experimental design consultation, gel band protein ID, post translational modification analysis, SILAC, data analysis, and peptide synthesis.
Radiation Facilities
The Radiation Core provides two animal irradiators and two cell/tissue irradiators for use in research.
Radiochemistry & Molecular Imaging Probes
The Radiochemistry & Molecular Imaging Probes Core provides researchers with radionuclides and helps incorporate them into radiolabeled pharmaceuticals and radiolabeled antibodies for both basic research investigations and patient formulations.
Research Pharmacy Core
The Research Pharmacy develops, procures, and validates the preparation and packaging of investigational drugs for clinical use.
Stem Cell Research
The SKI Stem Cell Research Core stocks, characterizes, and distributes human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) lines. We perform a variety of hPSC-related applications for the stem cell community at SKI and beyond. We are a part of the Starr Foundation-funded Tri-Institutional Stem Cell Initiative that provides shared stem cell expertise and resources among Memorial Sloan Kettering, Weill-Cornell, and Rockefeller University.
