I am an attending research clinical chemist in the Departments of Laboratory Medicine, Surgery (Urology Service), and Medicine (Genitourinary Oncology Service) at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. With my discovery of free PSA and other prostate-related proteins, I am primarily interested in circulating tumor markers that predict the development and progression of prostate cancer, as well as the possibility that these related markers play a key role in the pathogenesis of prostate cancer. I have contributed to over 180 peer-reviewed scientific publications, primarily detailing the relationship of biomarker proteins, prostate physiology, and pathology. I was a tenured professor at Lund University in Sweden until I moved to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and I still maintain an active relationship with my former laboratory at Lund University.

Soy químico clínico investigador adjunto en los Departamentos de Medicina de Laboratorio, Cirugía (Servicio de Urología) y Medicina (Servicio de Oncología Genitourinaria) del Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Gracias a mi descubrimiento del PSA libre y otras proteínas relacionadas con la próstata, principalmente, me interesan los marcadores tumorales circulantes que predicen el desarrollo y el avance del cáncer de próstata, así como la posibilidad de que estos marcadores relacionados actúen de forma clave en la patogénesis del cáncer de próstata. He contribuido en más de 180 publicaciones científicas revisadas por pares, en las que se detalla principalmente la relación entre las proteínas de biomarcadores, la fisiología de la próstata y la patología. Fui profesor titular en la Lund University en Suecia hasta que me trasladé al Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Aún conservo una relación activa con mi antiguo laboratorio en la Lund University.
