I have been a nurse for more than 25 years with expertise in patient access, case management, insurance, and home care. Throughout my nursing career, I have advocated for affordable medication and resources to enhance cancer care and insurance coverage to better support patient’s healthcare outcomes. In my 18 years at MSK, I have worked in case management providing care coordination for the bone marrow and blood cancer disorders population. I have participated in research, collaborated in the development of Patient Medication Assistance Programs, and presented in multiple National Nursing and Case Management Conferences.
Spanish is my primary language, born in Dominican Republic, I support the Spanish community in navigating and understanding the challenges of the health care system and exploring resources to support their care journey.
In my current role as an Associate Clinical Director in Patient Financial Services, I lead a group of Nurse Case Managers in obtaining insurance authorization and advocating for patients to receive care at MSK. I serve on MSK’s on The Move as the lead of the Health Care and Wellness Council and co-lead of the Salud Sin Barreras Program.
