At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), I am part of the RISE (Risk Assessment, Imaging, Surveillance, and Education) Program, which is a screening program for people at increased risk of breast cancer.
I am also part of the Breast Survivorship Program, which focuses on the long-term effects of cancer treatment and improving quality of life for people with breast cancer.
I have been a part of the RISE and Survivorship teams since 2022, and in these roles, I work with many experts from MSK’s breast cancer team. This includes surgeons, medical oncologists, and radiologists.
In the RISE program, we decide if you are at an increased risk for breast cancer and work on a long-term surveillance plan for you. Surveillance means regular monitoring for symptoms until treatment is needed. I work with people who are in active surveillance and educate them about risk reduction for breast cancer. I also provide support.
In the Survivorship program, we work hard to create a treatment plan for each patient and provide counseling and support in health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention, and the management of acute and chronic illnesses.
In my previous role at MSK, I worked in the pre-surgical testing department. I also worked for more than 10 years as an inpatient nurse at MSK. I truly enjoy working with patients and forming long-term relationships with them.
