Alison Schram, MD
Gynecologic Oncologist & Early Drug Development Specialist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

My research focuses on finding and targeting the molecular changes that drive a person’s tumor. This allows us to more precisely tailor treatments to their disease. By developing and running early-phase clinical trials, I hope to bring new and more effective therapies to people with all types of cancer.
I understand that being diagnosed with cancer is scary, and navigating treatment can be overwhelming. I help guide my patients through the process so that they feel supported and confident in their care. Together, we create a personalized treatment plan based on what is important to them. I work with my colleagues in surgery, radiation oncology, supportive care, pathology, and radiology to find the best treatment approach for each person.
A gynecologic (GY-neh-kuh-LAH-jik) oncologist is a cancer doctor with special training in the gynecologic system. This includes cervical, fallopian tube, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar cancers.
An early drug development specialist tests new drugs to treat cancer. They have special training in research studies, known as clinical trials.
