Get to Know Me

I’m a pediatric neurosurgeon at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). I mainly treat children and young adults for brain tumors and spine tumors but also see adults for these types of cancers.

I am an expert in treating many different types of brain and spine tumors. These include medulloblastoma, glioma, astrocytoma, ependymoma, germinoma ganglioglioma, oligodendroglioma, lymphoma, craniopharyngioma, and atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumors (ATRT). I see patients at Memorial Hospital, MSK’s main hospital, and at MSK Westchester

I use the latest science to make sure every surgery is planned exactly for you or your child’s unique needs. I work to understand the biology of a tumor before we even enter the operating room. This allows me to be incredibly precise, focusing on removing the tumor while protecting the healthy parts of the brain and spine that control movement and learning.

My parents moved to the United States in the late 1970s. I decided to become a doctor because I wanted to make the most of the opportunities given to me as the first-generation American child of immigrants. As a pediatric neurosurgeon, my goal is to do everything I can to deliver the best care and support not only to my patients, but to their entire family.

Using the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques, I aim to provide the best and safest outcomes possible. I believe that trust is the most important part of my job. I work closely with you to make sure you feel heard, supported, and confident in every decision we make together.

At MSK, I lead a team of experts, including cancer doctors, imaging specialists, and therapists. We work closely together to give you a seamless plan from diagnosis through recovery.

My research focuses on survivorship—making sure that as our treatments get better at saving lives, they also get better at protecting a child’s ability to think, move, and grow. I’m also working on new ways to help doctors decide the best time for surgery and how much of a tumor can safely be removed. My goal is to create a clear roadmap, so every child gets the right treatment at the right time.

I’m honored to train the next generation of surgeons to make sure that every child receives world-class care for years to come.
