Get to Know Me

I am a board-certified psychiatrist with an additional certification in consultation-liaison psychiatry. This is a subspecialty that focuses on the care of patients with both psychiatric and general medical conditions.

Within the field of consult-liaison psychiatry, I specialize in psycho-oncology, where I provide tailored psychiatric care and support to cancer patients. I work in both inpatient (hospital) and outpatient (clinic) settings and see patients at Rockefeller Outpatient Pavilion and the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center in New York City.

In the outpatient setting, I provide comprehensive psychiatric care for people with breast cancer, gynecologic cancers, and sarcoma. I help people manage symptoms such as anxiety, depression, fatigue, cognitive changes, sleep disturbances, and psychosocial distress.

In the inpatient settings, I see people with all types of cancers and focus on management of psychiatric conditions including delirium, which is a state of confusion that can happen in people who are ill. In this role, l also supervise fellows, residents, and other trainees that rotate through the psychiatric service.

My clinical roles, clinical innovations, teaching, and scholarly work throughout the years reflect a longstanding commitment to understanding and meeting the psychiatric needs of people with cancer.

I chose to specialize in psycho-oncology because I am passionate about helping people navigate the psychosocial and emotional challenges of cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, going to the beach, spending time with family and friends, and learning more about different cultures through travel.

Members of the MSK Community often work with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology, and life sciences companies, and other organizations outside of MSK, to find safe and effective cancer treatments, to improve patient care, and to educate the health care community. These activities outside of MSK further our mission, provide productive collaborations, and promote the practical application of scientific discoveries.

As a commitment to transparency with our community, we make that information available to the public. Not all disclosed interests and relationships present conflicts of interest.
