Get to Know Me

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with experience in providing therapy to people of all ages who have been diagnosed with cancer. Often, people who are undergoing a cancer treatment journey don’t know what to expect from therapy. I help the patients who work with me understand that therapy is a place to discuss all sorts of issues and concerns, such as adjusting to illness, challenges with support systems, balancing competing demands for time and energy, and all those thoughts about their diagnosis and its implications that are spinning in their head but are perhaps a bit scary or hard to verbalize.

My therapeutic approach is cognitive-behavioral and focuses on problem-solving. I aim to meet the individual needs of each person with whom I am honored to be in contact.

My research and administrative work have concentrated on access to mental health care, especially the integration of mental health services into medical care.To that end, I have published and presented on strategies to develop successful integrated care problems to national audiences. I also have a background in health communication and strive to relay information about mental health to a general audience in a clear and understandable manner. As such, I have been quoted (often under the name Jessy Warner-Cohen) on a wide variety of topics in popular news media.

At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), I see patients at MSK Bergen and MSK Westchester, as well as in Manhattan. Outside of work, I am a runner and baker (the two go hand in hand!) and enjoy being in nature.

Disclosures

Members of the MSK Community often work with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology, and life sciences companies, and other organizations outside of MSK, to find safe and effective cancer treatments, to improve patient care, and to educate the health care community. These activities outside of MSK further our mission, provide productive collaborations, and promote the practical application of scientific discoveries.

MSK requires doctors, faculty members, and leaders to report (“disclose”) the relationships and financial interests they have with external entities. As a commitment to transparency with our community, we make that information available to the public. Not all disclosed interests and relationships present conflicts of interest. MSK reviews all disclosed interests and relationships to assess whether a conflict of interest exists and whether formal COI management is needed.
