Get to Know Me

I am an intensivist with board certifications in internal medicine, infectious disease, and critical care medicine. As part of my role, I see patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), where I provide medical care for people who have life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

My journey into critical care medicine has been long and rewarding. I found my way to critical care medicine from medical school, through my surgical residency, PhD, and then to my medicine residency, followed by an infectious disease fellowship and finally, critical care medicine.

In addition to providing expert medical care to our patients, intensivists like me also look out for our patients’ families by keeping them in the loop. We understand that hospitalization in the ICU can be a stressful and often scary time for both patients and their caregivers. Clear, honest communication about what we are doing to improve patients’ conditions, next steps, and prognosis is not only important to our care approach in the ICU it also helps to dispel some of the anxiety that can come with this experience.

The ICU care team is a family at MSK that shares many memories together outside of work. We organize weddings, birthdays, and graduation ceremonies for our patients and their families. This thoughtful, loving approach that goes far beyond immediate medical care shows in all that we do for the people under our care.

What I Do at MSK
