As a hematologic oncologist, I aim to provide the best possible transplant and cellular therapy care to all patients who could benefit. With clinical expertise in geriatrics and supportive care, I take pride in caring for older patients to maximize treatment benefits, minimize side effects, and to preserve function and quality of life. I work with an interdisciplinary team to provide superior supportive care, which helps make remission possible with transplant and cellular therapy.

I was first driven to seek a cure in hematologic malignancies many years ago when my translational work in acute promyelocytic leukemia combined two targeted therapies to induce long-lasting disease remission. Since then, I have learned that hematopoietic cell transplant and cellular therapy often is the only curative option for most advanced hematologic malignancies. Now, my ultimate goals are to reduce treatment-related toxicities that limit their widespread use and to combine them rationally with other therapeutic modalities such as immunotherapy and targeted therapy to achieve a cure.

As a clinician researcher, I strive to succeed at the academic intersection of transplant cellular therapy and geriatrics supportive care. I conduct clinical trials that use geriatric assessment and management in transplant and cellular therapy for older patients. Additionally, I collaborate with colleagues in geriatric oncology, translational geroscience, and supportive care to uncover novel treatment strategies to improve patient outcomes.

With my clinical expertise in geriatrics and supportive care, I take pride in caring for older patients and helping them maintain their function and quality of life.
