About Me

I am a neurologist with expertise in treating pain and other symptoms related to cancer and its treatment. In my outpatient clinic and in the hospital, I specialize in supportive care to alleviate distress for patients and families facing cancer, guide patients in communicating their values and preferences, and help them locate resources for support in their own communities. After diagnosing the causes of patients’ pain and distress, I direct their supportive treatment, which can include pain medication, radiation therapy, invasive interventions, physical therapy and psychosocial support. I work closely with oncologists and specialists from other disciplines to ensure that our patients can achieve the best quality of life throughout and after their cancer treatment.

I supervise and teach clinical fellows training in MSK’s Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program.

My research relates to pharmacological pain management and treatment of neuropathic pain. Together with colleagues at MSK, I participate in clinical research projects focusing on pain and symptom management and quality of life for patients in all phases of cancer including survivorship.

Insurance

Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicare and New York State Medicaid also provide benefits for care at MSK.
