Get to Know Me

I’m a medical oncologist with special training in caring for people with genitourinary cancers. This includes:

This provider is part of a team that was ranked #1 in the nation for Urology Cancer Care this year by U.S. News & World Report.

I see patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) Nassau on Long Island.

I’m an expert in caring for people whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body. I also focus on treating people who have a high risk of cancer returning or spreading.

I was drawn to cancer care because it allows me to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients. It also gives me a chance to deliver treatments that can have a major impact on their lives.

I recognize that a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. I believe patients should understand their disease as well as the choices available to them. I work closely with each patient to develop a treatment plan that reflects the best available data as well as their personal needs and priorities.

As a physician-scientist, I combine patient care with research to make cancer treatment more effective and safer. One major area of my research involves using artificial intelligence and machine learning to better understand the side effects of cancer treatments.

These tools may help us predict which patients are more likely to experience serious side effects from treatments such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. This can help us prevent or better manage these complications.

I also study cancer metabolism. This includes the ways cancer cells obtain and use nutrients and energy, with a particular focus on kidney cancer. My research is looking at how changes in cellular metabolism can lead to the development and growth of cancer and whether these changes can reveal new ways to treat the disease.

My research has been supported by nonprofit foundations and the federal government. It has also been recognized by organizations including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research.

What I Do at MSK

I'm a genitourinary (GU) medical oncologist, which is a cancer doctor who specializes in genitourinary (jeh-nih-toh-YOOR-ih-nayr-ee) cancers. This includes bladder, kidney, penis, prostate, and testicular cancers.
