Nurse Practitioner
Karen Stellato

As a nurse practitioner on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit I am responsible for the coordination of patient care both before and after transplantation. My role includes performing daily physical exams, ordering routine and diagnostic tests and monitoring the results, preparing patients for discharge, and obtaining consultations from other services. I also provide ongoing education and support for our patients and their families.

When I became a nurse practitioner in 2008, I initially worked at a hematology and oncology doctor’s office in Glen Head, Long Island. I joined the Memorial Sloan Kettering team in 2011.

I am currently a member of both Long Island chapters of the Nurse Practitioner Association and the Oncology Nursing Society.
