I am an office practice nurse with a focus on caring for people with blood cancers. In my role, I serve as a point of contact and support for people from the time of diagnosis through treatment and recovery. I work closely with different teams to give patients the tools they need to manage their care and maintain a good quality of life throughout their cancer journey. I handle symptom calls, communication with providers, and clinic visits.
I want people to know that life continues beyond cancer. I know the challenge of being a caregiver as well. MSK has been at the heart of my journey since 2011, when my father was diagnosed with head and neck cancer while I was in nursing school. This experience gave me a unique understanding of a nurse’s role as “your person” throughout treatment and the immense support caregivers need during this difficult time. I felt called to work at the same place where my father is a patient, so I can share that journey with others and provide support and compassion from personal experience.
I do my best work while staying busy, so I am following my passions alongside my daily work as a nurse. I have an interest in nursing retention, recognition, and organizational leadership. That’s why I am pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Maryland. My goal is to help nurses play a bigger role in healthcare by recognizing their roles, supporting career advancement, and empowering them to shape the success of their workplace.
