I am a nurse practitioner (NP) at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). I work closely with doctors, patients, and families to achieve the best possible results for people going through bone marrow transplantation.
I care for patients both before and after their transplants and screen potential donors. As part of a team, I help improve treatment results and reduce risks for people who come to us for care. I also help administer chemotherapy and manage the complex medical problems that can arise with transplantation.
I joined MSK in 2007 as a clinical nurse and specialized in caring for people with leukemia, lymphoma, and various blood cancers.
During my time as a nurse, I learned the importance of primary nursing care – a nursing model that focuses on continuity of care. I also learned that a strong relationship between a doctor or nurse and their patient can have a positive treatment outcome.
I’m a member of the APP Governing Council at MSK. I’m also an active member of the Oncology Nursing Society as well as the Adult Nurse Practitioner’s Association. I look forward, through my future work and practice, to continue to contribute to these organizations.
