The Global Cancer Research & Training (GCRT) Program and the African Research Group for Oncology (ARGO) conduct collaborative, multidisciplinary research that addresses clinically meaningful questions across the cancer care continuum. Through partnerships with institutions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), our research integrates scientific discovery, capacity building, education, and patient care to improve cancer outcomes while strengthening sustainable research infrastructure.
Since its founding, GCRT has expanded from an initial focus on colorectal cancer to a broad research portfolio spanning breast cancer, gynecologic oncology, digital pathology, artificial intelligence, immunotherapy, psycho-oncology, epidemiology, implementation science, health systems research, and cancer survivorship. Today, GCRT supports more than 115 active research studies across Africa, Latin America, and North America.
