I am a genetic counselor in the Clinical Genetics Service. I provide genetic counseling for people at risk for inherited cancer syndromes. My focus includes genetic counseling for women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Genetic testing may be an important part of treatment planning and surgical decision-making for these women. My previous experience includes genetic counseling for couples, using preimplantation genetic diagnosis to reduce the risk of passing on hereditary syndromes to the next generation.
