Optimizing the use of Single high Dose Radiation Therapy (SDRT) in pre-clinical studies to activate innate immune signaling pathways, potentially leading to adaptive immune responses within the local tumors and in distant ones, i.e eliciting Adscopal and/or Abscopal effects.

Medical physicist Amita Shukla Dave is a faculty member (Professor) in the Departments of Medical Physics and Radiology, Director of Quantitative Imaging, Deputy Chief for the Service of Predictive Informatics, and Vice Chairman of Radiology-Medical Physics Outreach at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).

Medical physicist Andrew Jackson studies the relationship between radiotherapy dose distributions and treatment outcome and the optimization of radiotherapy treatment planning.

Our research group uses a combination of preclinical, translational and clinical trial investigations to identify strategies that lead to the most favorable breast cancer outcomes, ie maximizing the chances of disease control while minimizing toxicities.

Physician-scientist Daniel Higginson studies a double-strand break repair pathway known as microhomology-mediated end joining, with the overall goal of improving the understanding of radiation treatment and providing insight into therapies for cancers deficient in homologous recombination.

The Shouval Lab focuses on improving the safety and effectiveness of cellular therapies by unraveling and mitigating resistance and toxicity mechanisms using multiomic and computational strategies.
