I am a medical oncologist who cares for people with prostate cancer and other genitourinary cancers.

This provider is part of a team that was ranked #1 in the nation for Urology Cancer Care this year by U.S. News & World Report.

I provide personalized, evidence-based care that balances treatment strategy with quality of life. I care for the whole person by thinking beyond the medical needs of my patients, to also focus on their psychological and spiritual needs. I pride myself on fostering a rich doctor-patient relationship so I can truly connect with my patients and their families.

I have a strong foundation in clinical and outcomes research. I have previously investigated strategies to improve access to cancer clinical trials and how people with cancer use electronic medical record portals.

I am currently leading several clinical trials of novel anti-androgen drugs and treatment approaches for prostate cancer. I am also developing innovative remote-monitoring strategies that use emerging technologies, such as wearable activity trackers and smartphone apps, for people with cancer. Through these tools and treatment methods, I hope to better understand patients’ experience with cancer to improve clinical trial design, drug side effects, patient safety, and treatment outcomes.

I also serve as the lead at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for a collaborative education project with the Prostate Health Education Network. We aim to improve access to and participation in prostate cancer clinical trials for African American men with prostate cancer.

In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, playing ice hockey, and spending time with my wife and daughters. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to better the lives of people with cancer on a daily basis through compassionate care and patient-centered research.

A genitourinary (jeh-nih-toh-YOOR-ih-nayr-ee) oncologist is a cancer doctor with special training in the genitourinary (GU) system. This includes bladder, kidney, penis, prostate, and testicular cancers.
