Get to Know Me

I am also head of the Genomics, Risk & Health Decision Making Laboratory in Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Behavioral Sciences Service. The mission of this laboratory is to optimize the translation of novel discoveries regarding cancer risk and genomics, through research concerning cancer risk perceptions and health decision-making in patients, families, healthcare providers, and members of the general public across diverse populations and settings. Our laboratory also provides training and mentorship to students, fellows, and junior faculty involved in this research.

My research portfolio is funded by the National Institutes of Health, and involves understanding and addressing cancer risk perceptions as a motivator of cancer prevention strategies, as well as psychological and behavioral approaches to melanoma prevention, control, and treatment.

I also serve as a member of MSK’s Institutional Review Board, which meets regularly to review our hospital’s ongoing and proposed clinical research trials. I am a member of the Advisory Board within the Clinical Cancer Genetics Board for the National Cancer Institute’s Physician Data Query comprehensive database, and the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s Health Decision Making Special Interest Group.
