As a cytopathologist, I perform minimally invasive fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsies of superficial masses by feeling the mass manually or using ultrasound guidance. Many, if not most, of the targets of the FNA biopsies that we perform are head and neck masses, lymph nodes, parotid gland lesions, thyroid nodules, and soft tissue lesions. I have been engaged in the practice of cytopathology since 2004 after completing my training in anatomic pathology, cytopathology, and oncologic pathology.

My areas of interest include, but are not limited to, cytology of lungs, the pancreas, and the thyroid gland. Cytology, also known as cytopathology, focuses on harvesting and analyzing cells, whether they are separated or are present in clusters. These cells are usually obtained through the use of fine needle aspirations or from the drainage of body fluids. The objective of this practice is to interpret and diagnose abnormal tissue masses that are either benign or malignant. By working closely with radiologists and clinicians, I aim to provide rapid and accurate diagnoses in order to maximize the quality of care for patients.
A pathologist is a doctor who uses a microscope to make a diagnosis from cell and tissue samples. They analyze the samples to learn the cause and effects of a health condition.
