The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) Department of Radiation Oncology is proud to announce the inaugural Advanced Colorectal and Anal Cancer (CRAC) Fellowship. Based at our Manhattan campuses, this program offers focused subspecialty expertise in organ preservation and integrated translational research.
Program Overview
- Duration: One-year program beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.
- Structure: A balanced 60% clinical and 40% research experience.
- Mission: To cultivate clinical expertise in colorectal and anal cancer management, including neoadjuvant and non-operative organ-preservation strategies.
Educational Experience
Our fellows engage in high-volume clinical management (minimum 100 cases per year) utilizing the latest radiation techniques:
- Advanced Modalities: Includes IMRT, VMAT, MR-guided adaptive radiation therapy (MRg-ART), SBRT, and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT).
- Multidisciplinary Care: Active participation in Disease Management Team (DMT) conferences, difficult case rounds, and elective rotations in GI pathology, radiology, and surgery.
- Research & Academics: Conduct independent research with the goal of producing at least one manuscript for a peer-reviewed journal.
- Teaching & Leadership: Fellows help supervise residents and medical students and present didactic educational sessions for staff.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Prerequisites: Completion of an ACGME-accredited Radiation Oncology residency or an equivalent accredited residency program outside the United States.
- International Applicants: Must possess a valid ECFMG certificate and train under a J-1 visa sponsored by the ECFMG.
- Clinical Background: At least one year of clinical training in the United States is preferred.
