Child Life Internship

All of our interns are required to be affiliated with a university for the duration of the internship (we accept Masters level students only) for liability purposes as well as to scaffold the learning from the internship. We offer internship sessions during the Fall and Spring semesters. The part time/two semester or full time/one semester internship totals 600 hours.

In addition to the common application available through the Association for Child Life Professionals (we adhere to their deadlines as well), we require the following:

  • A minimum of 100 hours of volunteer experience with children
  • Two letters of reference including one from an individual who can speak to your work with children and potential as a child life specialist
  • A 300-500 word essay describing your philosophy of child life, how you propose this internship will contribute to your professional goals, and what strengths you will contribute to our program
  • Completed packets may be mailed to the address in the signature below. Feel free to reach out to me with any further questions.
