Current Research

Ms. Reiner’s research is in both epidemiologic and clinical studies. She is involved with two epidemiologic studies: the Women’s Environmental Cancer and Radiation Epidemiology (WECARE) study and the Genes, Environment, and Melanoma (GEM) study. These studies have unique designs. In WECARE, controls are those with unilateral breast cancer and cases are those with asynchronous bilateral breast cancer. In GEM, controls are subjects with a primary melanoma diagnosis and cases are those with multiple primary melanoma diagnoses.

Ms. Reiner collaborates with other investigators in the department on clinical studies within the breast and brain services. She is a member of the Surgery Protocol Review Committee. Ms. Reiner also works with Elyn Riedel to design and maintain the randomized protocols within the hospital.
