Wungki Park, MD

About Me

I am a medical oncologist who specializes in caring for people with cancers of the pancreas, bile system, and liver. I am part of a team of experts from many different areas, including surgeons, radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, interventional radiologists, and pathologists, to name a few. We work together to provide the best care for our patients and their families. I also partner with cancer biologists, immunologists, and bioinformaticians to identify and develop better treatments for our patients through clinical trials.

My research is focused on understanding how cancers do or do not respond to immunotherapy, which is treatment that involves using the body’s own immune system to attack cancer. In recent years, it has been incredibly exciting to see some patients have excellent responses to this type of treatment. Our mission is to develop new strategies so that more people with cancer can benefit from immunotherapy.

Clinical Trials

As home to one of the world’s top cancer research centers, Memorial Sloan Kettering is typically involved in more than 900 clinical trials at a given time. Currently, clinical trials focused on the conditions I treat are enrolling new patients. Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicaid and New York State Medicare also provide benefits for care at MSK.
