Members of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences are national and international leaders in clinical innovation and research in evidence-based psychiatric oncology.
Our clinical faculty provides individually tailored care for cancer-related distress to patients and caregivers throughout the course of care at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Many of our providers have subspecialty training and certification in consult liaison psychiatry and psycho-oncology.
We are investigators and collaborators, leading innovative research in such areas as:
symptom control
delivery of psychotherapy
health education
patient communication
health behavior intervention
cancer disparities
A large number of our faculty have completed clinical or research fellowships and been involved in training clinician and scientist colleagues in the field of psycho-oncology. In addition, we’re proud to serve as leaders, mentors, and supervisors within clinical and research fellowships and as lecturers for didactics for clinical fellows.
